Business Description: Sample is a hearing health care company founded to develop, manufacture and market the world's most effective hearing instruments. The Company has developed a breakthrough technological advancement in digital signal processing which will enable the creation of hearing instruments of unprecedented performance and fidelity. The primary patent has been issued, four more have been filed, and six are in preparation for filing. Technology Description: Development group experienced in rugged PC compatible design that can be adapted for market specific applications. Our largest current opportunity is based on Company's existing product technology, with modifications to incorporate the feature for our OEM customer.

Proprietary Description: Company manufactures the only rugged, full screen "always on" terminal with specific features including, "emergency" and "message" keys, backlit keyboard, Flash program storage and other unique features for the transportation markets.

Regulatory Issues: Standard regulations such as FCC type A and UL approval are the only regulatory issues.

Market Size: The mobile communications market for personal communication systems (PCS) and enhanced satellite mobile radios (ESMR) is projected to grow from $14M in sales to $600M in sales by 1997. The market penetration is projected to grow from 6.45 percent in 1993 to 19.23 percent in the year 2000. Company's new rugged terminal (in partnership with AMSC and other OEMs) is targeted specifically to fill a void in the mobile communications market for trucking, shipping, fleet management and route management applications.

Customers: Our largest current customer for the mobile satellite terminal is American Mobile Satellite Corporation. AMSC packages the terminal with their software for a complete communications solution for the trucking industry. Other major customers that we are currently negotiating with include: Trimble Navigation, NavTech, MTI, RaycoTech, LXE corp. YKE (Sweden) HighWay Master. Our largest customer for our other hand-held computers is the U S Government. Hand-helds are sold into areas of forestry, fisheries, and other natural resource management. We have several OEM customers for applications including Intrinsic Safe observations (AIW, Shell, Dow), and Crop growth efficiency (HarvestMaster, Pioneer Hi-Bred, Northrope King).
