Call for Entries Deadline Extended for Wayne Brown Institute

Investors Choice Hawaii Venture Capital Conference

Executive summary, company facts sheet and application fee due by August 2, 2004 for consideration to present at September 22-23, 2004 event in Honolulu

SALT LAKE CITY and HONOLULU – July 19, 2004 – The Wayne Brown Institute (WBI) today extended the deadline for its call for entries for the sixth annual Investors Choice a Hawaii Venture Capital Conference, to be held September 22-23, 2004 in Honolulu.

Companies may apply for the opportunity to present at the conference and for business plan analysis and mentoring from venture capitalists, investors, securities attorneys, accountants and/or marketing consultants. A detailed executive summary, a one-page facts sheet and a non-refundable application fee of $195 must be submitted to WBI by August 2, 2004 in order for a company to be considered.

Once submitted, materials will be reviewed by a panel of senior venture capitalists who will then select some companies immediately and place those remaining in a pending status file to be notified later. An additional $500 presentation fee is required of those companies selected to present at the conference.

“The opportunity to present at an Investors Choice conference is certainly a valuable one, and we are glad to be able to extend the submission deadline in order to offer companies a little more time to gather the materials and information they need to submit an application,” said Brad Bertoch, president of WBI. “There are a number of advanced tools available that can help a company understand how best to succeed and also take steps to secure the funding it needs. No matter what stage a company is in, submitting an entry for consideration to present at the Investors Choice conference is a great investment with very high potential returns.”

WBI has conducted venture capital conferences for more than 20 years, with its alumni companies raising a total of more than $1.2 billion in private equity. In the six years that the Investors Choice Hawaii conference has been held, numerous companies in the high-tech and life science industries have participated from Hawaii, the lower 48 states and other nations. Such participating companies have included Hoana Medical, Firetide, EmergeCore Networks, eReinsure, Innovasic, and Hoku Scientific.
