Selection Process continued...
database that is used to solicit an "Expanded Executive Summary" from emerging companies that:
- have less than $20 million in annual sales
- have ambitious expansion plans
- have a seasoned management team
- fully expect to achieve $40-50 million in annual sales after three to seven years
Only the most promising of the businesses who submit Expanded Executive Summaries are selected to present to angel, corporate and venture capital investors and other financial organizations during an Investors Choice Venture Capital Conference.
All written submissions are reviewed by a panel of venture capital experts. Independence in the company selection process is critical for quality control. Membership organizations, governmental agencies and academic institutions are all subject to constituent pressure. WBI is free of these influences, and it relies on the venture capital community, which is the most independent and qualified group to make the final selection.
