About Us
Formed in 1983, the Wayne Brown Institute (WBI) runs the oldest and most successful non-profit venture accelerator program in the country. Most importantly, WBI's accelerator program helps technical entrepreneurs from every social economic level raise money for their businesses. WBI's network of experienced and knowledgeable mentors has assisted over 580 promising high-tech companies. These alumni companies have raised a combined $1.7 billion in private equity since participating in an Institute accelerator program. Over 30,000 jobs have been created or retained by alumni companies. The Institute annually provides between 1%-2% of all venture quality deal flow in the United States.
In addition, WBI has conducted:
- Over 45 venture capital conferences in eight cities throughout the United States, including the investor acclaimed Investors Choice® conferences held annually in Hawaii and Utah and Alabama.
- Over 80 seminars, programs and conferences focused on entrepreneurship throughout the world.
- Co-developed and commercialized some of the most sophisticated analytical tools in use for new venture development.
WBI is concerned only with helping entrepreneurs raise capital for their businesses. WBI is not a general business consultant or a finder.
